About the Age-Friendly Institute
Advancing Age-Friendly in All Settings
Our mission is to be a leading voice of, and connector to, older adults-- to help organizations improve their cultures, products and services, and ultimately their results.
Founded in 2019, the Age-Friendly Institute elevates those age-friendly initiatives and provides a first of its kind platform for capturing feedback about them from older adults: the consumer website AgeFriendly.com.
Working with our partners around the world, we harness what we learn when we listen to the voices of older adults to inform continuous age-friendly program improvement and accelerate enhanced quality of life and care for older adults.

Community leaders, health providers, employers and others are mobilizing to develop age-friendly programs to serve older adults. The Age-Friendly Institute raises awareness of all things age-friendly and builds consumer demand for trusted programs and services that truly meet their needs and wants.
Fostering Cross Sector Collaboration
We are working with partners from across the Age-Friendly Ecosystem to elevate all things age-friendly and jumpstart the co-creation of shared strategies for program leaders, providers and stakeholders to plan and measure collective impact across settings.
Elevating demand for all things age-friendly by listening to the voice of older adults at scale
At AgeFriendly.com we’re harnessing the power of the internet to elevate all things age-friendly and build consumer demand for trusted programs and services that truly meet the needs and wants of older adults. We empower older adults and their caregivers to seek out and insist on age-friendly services and programs in all settings.
Recognizing Age-Friendly Workplaces
The purpose of the Certified Age Friendly Employer program is to assist age 50+ job seekers by identifying employers committed to objectively considering them for appropriate employment, free of age bias or discrimination, and to recognize those employers who want age 50+ candidates to know they are valued for their knowledge, maturity, reliability and productivity.
Informing continuous improvement in all settings
Working with Age-Friendly Institute partners across the age-friendly ecosystem, we share consumer insights with leaders, providers, and practitioners of all kinds — helping to inform the creation of better programs and services that truly live up to the promise of “age-friendly”.
